PhotonicsScientific biography
Elena Gofas Salas, INSERM research fellow at the Institut de la Vision, is an expert in optical imaging. Her research aims to develop non-invasive optical measurements of retinal cell structure and function in the living human eye, and in particular to develop new imaging systems that reveal and characterize the transparent cells of the retina. This development is aimed at improving diagnosis and monitoring of ophthalmological pathologies, as well as extracting cellular biomarkers that provide information on the pathological process in neurodegeneration.
