Pathophysiology of the anterior segment of the eye
Our multidisciplinary team, comprising researchers, clinician-researchers, engineers, and students, is currently the only team in the Vision Institute working on the diseases of the anterior segment of the eye. Our preclinical and clinical research have focused on glaucoma, dry eye disease, ocular toxicology and ocular pain.
Presentation
Our team is the only team in France and one of the few in the world to develop translational studies dedicated to ocular pain. Innovative fundamental and clinical research projects, conducted in collaboration with the Clinical Investigation Center and the Ophthalmobiology Laboratory at the Quinze-Vingts Hospital, aim to deepen our understanding of peripheral and central mechanisms associated with chronic dry eye disease and pain.
Our objective is to discover promising new therapeutic approaches aimed at alleviating pain in patients who currently lack effective treatments.
Research areas
Neuronal networks involved in chronic ocular pain
Neuroinflammation and ocular pain
Identification of new therapeutic targets for treating ocular pain
Identification of biomarkers in dry eye disease
